Before the Weekend: What Pain in Your Life Still Feels Strangely Familiar?

This week, we stayed near one uncomfortable truth.

What hurts us is not always what we are most ready to leave.

Sometimes the pain has been with us so long that it has begun to feel like a form of orientation. Not good. Not kind. Not life-giving. But known.

And the known can be very persuasive.

So before the weekend begins, I want to offer one quiet question.

What pain in your life still feels strangely familiar?

Not the pain you talk about most easily.

The one you have adapted around.

The one that no longer shocks you because you have made room for it so many times.

The one that keeps presenting itself as inevitable, even though some part of you knows it is not the whole story of your life.

If you want to reply, keep it to one sentence.

One sentence is often enough to reveal what a person is finally ready to stop normalizing.
